Professional Team
Andrew is the Head Golf Professional and has been a PGA Professional for over 30 years and given over 30,000 golf lessons. He has an HND in Golf Psychology, coached HND Golf Studies pupils and been a county coach.
Andrew started his profession at Worplesdon Golf Club as a qualified professional before becoming Head of the South-East Golf Academy working alongside Doug McClelland. His first Head Professional job was at Merrist Wood Golf Club in 1997 and then moved to Ogbourne Downs Golf Club in Wiltshire. Whilst at Ogbourne he took on the new role of Director of Golf as well as continuing his initial position of Golf Professional. Andrew is currently Director of Golf/Golf Professional at Guildford Golf Club and has been at the club since 2008.
Andrew loves to take an active role in the running of the golf club. He and his professional shop team are dedicated to providing a first class service to members and guests. Andrew’s aim is to give honest and unbiased advice encouraging all members and visitors to enjoy their golf. Andrew enjoys working with all standards of players and helping to enhance their understanding and appreciation of the mechanics of their golf swing.

Whether you are a beginner wanting to learn the basics before heading out on the golf course or looking to get that handicap down, our Professional team will be able to help you. Coaching in every area of golf is available and the team take time to get to know their customers so tuition can be tailored to suit the individual.

Like every other aspect of Guildford Golf Club, our friendly Pro’ shop is an extremely important part of making your time here as enjoyable and effortless as possible – whatever you need, from a ball marker to a new set of clubs. The Pro’ Shop stocks all the leading manufacturers, including Callaway, TaylorMade and Titleist. Clothing from Under Armour, Penguin and FootJoy is well represented and there is a wide range of FootJoy, Under Armour and Skechers shoes available from which to choose.
The Pro’ Shop operates a ‘price match’ policy on all hardware, clothing and trolley sales, so be sure to speak to a member of the team to see if they can meet your needs.
