Guildford Golf Club is a perfect venue to teach and develop young golfers in a fun and positive environment. We have an active junior section where we aim to help nurture young talent and enthusiasm as they develop their skills and love of the game.
Beginner golfers are encouraged to discover the basic concepts and techniques of the game through small group classes. More advanced individuals are encouraged to develop their skills through individual and on-course playing lessons as they progress through the various levels of membership.
The club supports plenty of opportunities to play in friendly or competitive formats. Throughout the year our juniors participate in monthly stroke play or stableford events, weekly roll-ups and “Major” junior club competitions including the club championships and knockout competitions.
The club also takes part in the local Interclub Competition at seven clubs in the area; Bramley GC, Burhill GC, Effingham GC, Farnham GC, Guildford GC, Surbiton GC and West Byfleet GC. We also compete in the Guildford & District match-play league.
The professional team is well versed in coaching juniors of all ages and abilities. Beginner or “New to Golf”, golfers are welcomed at our group roll-up coaching sessions which take place over the weekend. These classes are available to all ages, with no membership fee, prior to transitioning into a junior member at the club.
If you are a more advanced individual and want to develop your game further, our tiered membership structure encourages development of skills through subsidised PGA Coaching, available to junior members at each level of membership.

Equipment is available to borrow for the course of the lesson from the pro-shop for those who need to do so.

Dame Laura Davies
Dame Laura Davies started her journey in golf at Guildford Golf Club, joining the Club at the age of 14. She has gone on to be recognised as the nation's most accomplished female golfer of all time, winning the Ladies European Tour Order of Merit a record seven times: in 1985, 1986, 1992, 1996, 1999, 2004 and 2006.
Laura has won an incredible 85 professional worldwide competitions in her career, including 4 majors. She was deservedly inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2015 for her extraordinary achievements in golf.
We are proud to have an association with Laura and are delighted to have her support for our Junior section. We hope that our current juniors will take inspiration from all that Laura has achieved and know that she too started by playing on the challenging fairways and greens of Guildford.
