Thinking About Joining? Please see answers to some common questions

If you still have questions about Membership, please contact Tom May on 01483 563941 or email [email protected]

  • Do I have to have a registered handicap to join?

Ideally, yes, but we understand that some people are coming back to golf after an extended break or are new to the game. If you have a handicap, submit this on the application form. If you do not have a handicap then you must have a proposer and seconder.

  • What if I don’t know a current member so have no one to propose me?

If you know a Guildford Golf Club Member who is happy to support your application, then please put their name down. If you don’t know a member then you must have an official handicap. Each application is looked at on an individual basis and the Secretary will discuss your golfing history with you.

  • What is the application process?

Submit an application form which can be done online or downloaded, scanned and submitted to [email protected]. This is then passed to the Club Secretary who will be in contact with you to invite you to the Club to discuss your application.

  • How long does the application process take?

It is dependent on the availability of both you and the Secretary to have the conversation. In general, it is around two weeks.

  • Is there a joining fee?

Yes there is a joining fee.

This is £1,500 for any category apart from the U35 memberships which are £500.
